Business Development Manager

A growing consultancy business is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its ambitious firm.

 

Working closely with the Founder and Sales Director, this role will help to drive business growth, by delivering to a wide range of sales related responsibilities.

 

Duties will include (but not be limited to), attending trade shows and networking events, helping to organise company events, following up on leads generated by the marketing activity in the business and closing new opportunity (which will subsequently be delivered by consulting experts in the business).

The business delivers high value consultancy services and wins its business through credibility, social media presence, relationships, and expertise. The role will require a strong communicator who has bags of enthusiasm, commercial acumen, business and political interest and people curiosity.

 

This broad sales role would suit someone who is looking for a role that could progress into team leadership and management in the longer term. For now, it will be working stand alone, as the businesses first dedicated sales professional (outside of the founder, sales director, and the consultants). With that in mind, it could be useful if you have demonstrable experience of working in environments that have seen rapid growth, from small beginnings.

 

To apply to this role, you should be a sales professional who has experience from business or professional consultancy environments. You should have experience selling Business to Business and demonstrate the ability to manage complex sales cycles. You should be used to dealing with ambiguity and be able to pick up and master CRM systems quickly. Ideally you will have an interest in business, economics, and politics. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder who is interested in people and asks the right questions.
